Amazon Simple Storage Service which is also know as (Amazon S3) is a storage for the internet. The main purpose behind this storage service is to make web-scale computing easier.

Why we use this service because, It can be used to store and retrieve any amount of data, from anywhere, at any time on the web. Amazon S3 is highly scalable, reliable, secure, inexpensive infrastructure. This service main goal is to maximize benefits of scale.

To get the most out of this service it’s necessary to understand some of the few simple concepts.  To begin with a bucket need to be created to store data and any amount of files can be uploaded. For the those file that get uploaded you can set permission while uploading it. Simply Buckets are the containers for the objects.

Note: But keep in mind you won’t be charged for creating buckets, but storing objects in the buckets will be charged and once the bucket is created you cannot change the name of it. If you are using a free tier up to a certain level you can use it free for an one year

Now lets see how you can create a Bucket in AWS (Amazon Web Services) using S3 service. The below images will guide you through step by step for creating, deleting and how to move objects from different bucket to another.

First of all to create a bucket you should be logged in to the AWS management console. when you are in the management console click on > Services > From the menu click on S3. Click on +Create Bucket you will get a popup window like shown by the below image. Give a bucket name and make sure it is a unique name, select a region which suits your location and click on create.
Note: You can give permissions while you are creating a bucket, but if you do not want to give permissions click on create.

To download the object you uploaded > click on the object  and you will see the property panel that will open up, click on download. save the file in your computer.

To move an object from one bucket to another is easy. But before you move an object you need to create a new bucket follow the same above steps you followed to create a new bucket. when it is done > Click on the object you want to move > click on More > from the drop down menu select cut.

Now go to the 2nd bucket you created, click on more and select paste from the drop down menu.

To delete an Object click on the small box which is next to the object > Click on More > Select delete from the drop down > click on delete when the confirmation dialog appears.

To delete the bucket click on the bucket and click on More and select delete from the drop down menu, when the confirmation box appears it will ask you to type the bucket name you want to delete type the name and click on Confirm.
